Business Description
In 2015 all United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 17 goals for sustainable development mark the most ambitious development agenda ever seen. It is centered around three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental, and act as action plan for people and planet.
Our horticulture division delivers sustainable food technology solutions that support healthy, local production. The world population is increasing rapidly. At the same time, a third of all food produced annually is wasted.
We work to promote sustainable infrastructure, production, and consumption of food by developing intelligent technologies for food production. Our solutions for vertical farming push the limits and possibilities for local production, enabling better production possibilities for the increasing urban population.
Our sensor division delivers modern sensor technology that enables control and safety for the future’s sustainable energy use. We have year-long experience with sensor technology for e.g., the wind energy sector, for control and regulation of energy intensive equipment promoting reduction of CO2 emissions and for control of temperatures in scrubber technology, used to clean exhaust gas in the marine industry.
We also aim to bring these experiences into play in future energy-sectors, such as Power-to-X, Fuel Cell technology and Thermal Energy Storage (TES). Doing so, we enable and ensure dependable access to an increasing share of sustainable energy in the global energy mix.
On a corporate level, we work strategically with sustainable operations and effective production. We take actions to reduce our CO2 emissions and ensure minimal environmental footprint. We reduce our energy use by changing light sources to LED, we have invested in a new central heating installation with heat pumps in replacement of gas, and we have committed to bring down CO2 emissions from our vehicles.
43% of our total energy use in 2020 was sourced from sustainable energy sources.
In our horticulture division we work to promote sustainable infrastructure, production, and consumption of food by developing intelligent technologies for food production. Our horticulture technologies support improvements in efficiency, while our LED fixtures and bio-mixers enable green and clean production.
We ensure effective control and regulation of commercial greenhouses e.g., to reduce waste heat, and are focused on future-proofing installations to match future demography and consumer demands. We do so by developing products that have a large degree of flexibility in relation to settings and use.
