Senior Sales Executive – Commerce, Italy + Spain

We are looking for an experienced and hardworking Senior Sales Executive to join our team, to grow our client base across key markets in Italy and Spain, with particular focus on the Commerce vertical. This person will focus on customer acquisition, driving revenue, adoption and market penetration in a targeted list of prospects and accounts for Italy and Spain.

There is a need for strong experience acquiring new business opportunities with major retailers in the region. The ideal candidate possesses both a technical sales background and a strong marketing and business development acumen, that enable them to drive an engagement at the CTO, CIO, CISO and VP of Digital level. They should be prepared to develop, be accountable for, and execute against a clear plan to consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets.

The Senior Sales Executive is an individual contributor position, where you will be supported by a team of Sales Engineers and a fantastic Marketing team spanning product marketing and lead generation to ensure you have all the tools and insights you need to sell Fastly across the territory.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Direct prospecting into list of priority accounts across the defined territories across Italy and Spain
  • Effectively and independently deliver the Fastly company story, value proposition, and product demonstrations
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to drive revenue and market share in the assigned market
  • Develop and maintain account plans for the key, strategic opportunities
  • Work closely with Marketing department to plan and execute demand generation activities in the assigned market
  • Managing all aspects of the sales cycle including: prospecting, sales campaign/meetings, negotiation close, account management
  • Prepare and manage proposals, quotes, and contracts, including the coordination and delivery of RFP responses
  • Accountable for driving business, and meeting or exceeding quota goals and MBO’s
  • Work closely with the key teams across the Fastly business including Client Services, Marketing, Product, Product Marketing to ensure the regional efforts are aligned and executed

What We’re Looking For

  • Ideally 8+ years of technology (B2B, SaaS preferred) related sales or business development experience with senior leadership and C-level executives across Technology & Marketing, with a proven track record of success selling into Italy and Spain
  • Experience with technologies and content delivery network services, security services, cloud based services, SaaS, PaaS, content management, web analytics, website performance, cloud storage, mobile content delivery or managed web hosting is highly desired
  • Strong network of contacts in Italy and Spain, both at end customers and partners/channels, in key verticals such as Commerce
  • A successful track record of selling a highly technical product to mid-size businesses and Enterprises, Including large multi-divisional/multinational companies
  • Be prepared to develop, be accountable for and execute against a clear plan to consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets. Experience in developing, leading and executing growth of customers and teams is preferrable
  • Self starter who can demonstrate development, growth and expansion of a business area
  • Fluency in Italian, Spanish and English is required

Your Location

This position is a remote role and open to candidates residing in the following locations: Barcelona, Spain.

We expect up to 50% of your time will be spent Travelling for this role.
