Our founders, Agricultural Engineer Büşra Yapıcı and Mehmet Yapıcı have begun R&D studies on domestic seeds in 2000 within a 400 square meter greenhouse.

Petektar Seed, in the wake of researches and studies carried out meticulously for many years, has set out to provide the seed demand of our country from our own genetic resources and to add value to the sector.

Petektar Seed has begun its commercial activities in Antalya, Topallı Village in 2010 on a 40 decare estate with 25 decares greenhouse with the vision of producing high quality, disease resistant and economical seeds suitable for our geography.

As of 2016, our production area has been increased up to 127 decares with the Kurşunlu Village Production Facility and Topallı Village Research and Experiment Station.

While maintaining its leadership in the sector without compromising its principles and never deviating from the idea of domestic seeds in a period of 10 years, Petektar Seed Company commercially sells its own production line of hybrid tomato, cucumber, watermelon, zucchini and pepper seed varieties which all have production permits by the Ministry of Agriculture.
With its team of experts, Petektar Seed primarily satisfied the farmers with more than 50 Seed R&D results obtained, and yet succeeded to satisfy its customers by first testing all its products for the best taste and conducting necessary physiological tests.

Petektar Seed, put its Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory into operation in 2020 and Molecular Laboratory in 2021 for the purpose of improving its R&D studies in scientific area via reorienting its breeding studies. In our R&D studies, diseases resistant, productive, high quality and durable varieties are developed via classic breeding methods and supporting techniques. We have developed breeding studies that increase productivity and quality.

Petektar Seed advances forward with the mission of introducing Turkish Seed quality to the World free from commercial concerns via strengthening its sectoral network with strong distributors and companies that add value to their own country, hence, Petektar Seed shall continue its success by receiving honors and appreciation evermore.

As of 2022, Petektar Tohum continues to grow and forge ahead with firm steps at international level, with the participation of the 2nd generation Ömercan Yapıcı and Petek Yapıcı to the Petektar Tohum team.
